Soccer Community Involvement-Next Game

As everyone knows fall is approaching now and this means that all the younger kids will begin their seasons. The little kids are divided into age groups and have just begun their seasons this week. They will be looking for help coaching, referees, and help maintaining their fields. Coaching is available to anyone who wants to help, but I suggest you know a little bit about the game. Even the little six year old kids like to argue about "their" rules already! The games will need referees and in the event a ref can't show up a volunteer ref might be needed. All you need to know at the U6 and U8 level is who kicked the ball out and if someone scored. Unfortunately, U10, U12, and U14 referees have to be certified, but an occasional flagman is needed to assist the main referee. All you have to be able to call is offsides, out-of-bounds, and corner kicks. This can prove tricky the first few times though. We also are going to take a group down to the fields and paint lines, fix nets, sort jerseys, and air up all the soccer balls. I will post as soon as I find out when we are going to do this.

As for the varsity team, we now stand 1-3-1. We stand a very high chance of going to the state tournament this fall on October 11th to 13th. We play Mitchell Christian tonight at 7 PM. We also have another home game vs. our rival team, Lead-Deadwood, on Tuesday at 6 PM. This game is also our parents night, so we ask for a large crowd and support to beat our rival team.
